In addition to serving as the state of Bihar’s deputy chief minister, politician Shri Tejashwi Yadav is currently a member of the Bihar Assembly. Rabri Devi and Lalu Prasad Yadav were his parents. Of his nine siblings—seven sisters and one brother—Tejaswi Yadav is the youngest. After growing up in his hometown, he and his older sister Meesha Bharti relocated to New Delhi. He captained the cricket squad at RK Puram School. He continued playing cricket after quitting school and was a member of the winning under-19 and 17 World Cup teams. Tejaswi Yadav was an all-around player who played for the team. He later participated in domestic cricket as a first-class player. From 2009 to 2011, he played with the Delhi Daredevils in the Indian Premier League. His mother, Rabri Devi, was the leader of the Rashtriya Janta Dal (RJD) party when he joined politics alongside his father, Lalu Prasad Yadav. Both his mother and father served as Bihar state’s previous chief ministers.

In 2015, the Alliance of Rashtriya Janata Dal, Janta Dal (U), and Indian National Congress party fielded Shri Tejashwi Yadav as their candidate for the Raghopur seat in the state assembly election. With a majority, the alliance entered the Bihar government. He was sworn in as the Deputy Chief Minister of the Bihar State Assembly, which is led by Nitish Kumar.
